SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Good morning to you - all sons and daughters of the Ekpeye ethnic nation. I am glad to announce to you that a Community Radio station has been birthed in our own Ahoada - the heartbeat of Orashi region of Nigeria. It's equally the first radio station ever established in Ekpeye land. It modulates at the Stereo (direct wave) frequency of 88.7.Mhz FM and it is a located at De Tropicana Hotel and Gardens Limited, Ahoada. Ekpeye 88.7Mhz FM is sponsored in God's time and grace by His Imperial Majesty, Eze, Sir, (Amb.) Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, PhD, DSSRS, FNIM, MNIMN, CNA, SFALPP, JP, AP, Eze Ekpeye Logbo III and Akalaka XII, to close the yawning gap in our Communication life and to accentuate the development and promotion of our socio-economic and cultural existence. However, inasmuch as we shall support all the fragments of politics in our society, we shall not support any divisive tendencies that may set ablaze our indwelling cultures of unity, peace and love as encoded in our tradition and customs and exemplified in the unity of purpose in accepting and celebrating our annual festival, perpetuate same oral tradition and history, traditional dances, foods, native laws, customs and lifestyle. As a broadcasting outfit, we shall always seek to find the commonest denomination of unity and build upon it for the advancement of our beloved Ekpeye land. Religiously, our pastors shall find a unique anchor within it in order to reach out to their target audience in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, mostly in our mother tongue. Similarly, our traditional institutions shall also find within it, a smooth vehicle to disseminate information and showcase the relevance of traditional rulership. Ekpeye 88.7Mhz FM Ahoada shall give all Ekpeye sons and daughters the needed pride of ownership and unique sense of belonging. We are available and open to all, except that we shall not join in any bandwagon effect of hatred and negative politics. Our News presentation and discussion programmes in Ekpeye language shall be tailored to the path of truth and unity and as well provide harmless feedback from our audience. Furthermore, our entrepreneurs shall be given ample opportunity to reach their clients within seconds. It's going to be a new world of our own as our Online radio link and global radio Apps such as Radio Garden are being intensified.

We also assure you that we shall not be static at this current status of Community broadcasting as plans are underway to upgrade the system to a full commercial broadcast facility. We shall commence the full broadcast programme on Monday 12th January 2026 which on the other hand commemorates the end of Nigeria's civil war in 1970, that this may also bring to an end the unfortunate hatred among us as to tow the path of honour and respect for one another.
